Beautiful skies this morning, as I rose at 6...

Children's paraphernalia was present in next door's garden...

...and their markings were on the pavement...

More good skies a little later...

..and later still - not even 8 am yet...

Anne joined me for a breakfast at home before I took her to Jane and Bobby's - she was on a day out - lunch in Glasgow then back to Firhill, this time to see Hearts triumph 2-1 over Partick Thistle (with a last minute goal) where Queens did not...

Queens were busy winning 1-0 in Dunfermline though...

A walk around Corstorphine for your correspondent...

...where these three items were secured for just £2.50 all told...

Listened to all three before heading over to Fife to Impossible Songs' place at Crombie Point...

A goodly number of old chums, your correspondent included, took to the makeshift stage to entertain...

Norman Lamont accompanied me on bass for the opening salvo of Ferry, Velvets and Eno before we swapped over for some Beatles, Paul Simon and Talking Heads...

Miss Fi and Fingers Farrell gave us a trio of their own songs...

...as did Impossible Songs with the Friday Concept...

Said Friday Concept, who had travelled all the way from Germany to be here for the weekend then played a set with handily translated lyrics in handed out pamphlets...

Tommy Mackay was splendid as ever and, later on, covered The Clash...

Scott Renton, watched by his wife and kids, gave us more originals...

...there was a bonfire of sorts...

...and plenty of food and drink for the gathered throng...

Baxter the 13 week old dog also entertained...

...as did Jim Igoe...

...during whose set, Tommy managed to break the skin on a Djembe - fittingly it was during a Who song while he was channeling Keith Moon...

"Substitute" was never so funny...

The night ended for many with a return by Mr CBQ for "Skylines Full of Cranes" and the Friday Concept with "Love The One You're With" and "Like a Rolling Stone", all three of these the subject of community sing-a-longs...

Top notch...

I gave Jim and Sheena Igoe a lift back over the bridge and into Central Edinburgh before making my way home, having played in front of people for the first time since November 2014..

Not only that but one of the four songs I played was one of my own...

A good day...

Highlight of the Day : Playing...

Sounds like alot of fun. Must be good to be able to "jam" together.

Hi John - Excellent times as always! Much enjoyed. Pity about the bridge closure scenario otherwise might have been there all night. Top notch from the Germans btw... Anne sends here love and hopefully catch up again soon

Hi Moira - it was indeed a lot of fun - used to play quite a lot with many of these guys 10 years or so ago. I'm not the best at "jamming" but it's enjoyable...
